Happy Easter everyone!
The next 50 days we celebrate the Eastertide or Easter Season.  It is also called Paschaltide or the Paschal Season.  In this week's blog entry, I will share with you some resources for this Paschal Time.  After the Paschal resources, you will find some other happenings in the Eastern Region to note.
As always, check RCFaithquest.srydio.org for even more resources!
50 Days of Easter Activities for families,  every day from Easter to Pentecost
This website has 50 different activities families can do that remind them of the Easter season, for example:
-Put up a sign "He is Risen" (perhaps provide families with materials to do this, even if it is a coloring sheet)
-Say "Alleluia" at the end of mealtime blessings.
-Talk about baptisms and share family baptism moments...
One way to share this information is to add a Paschal Time Activity post each day on your parish FB page.  Ask families to comment on their progress in doing any of the activities during the Paschal Time. This can create community and faith sharing.

The Paschal Mystery in Every day Life
Post or print the following article for families.

Paschal Mystery Explained (St. Mary’s Press).  Older students and adults.
This is a pdf handout that explains more about the Paschal Mystery.  This can be used to create a lesson for high school students or used with adults, especially RCIA adults.  Could lead to good Mystagogy discussions.

For Planning Children's Lessons:
Though not about the Paschal Mystery, here is an activity for Divine Mercy Sunday (April 23) from Catholic Icing.

Paschal Mystery Powerpoint by St. Mary’s press
Download the powerpoint from the website.  This PowerPoint is part of the Living in Christ Series. It uses vivid images to discuss the various signs and symbols that represent the Paschal Mystery. Students are asked to reflect on why a certain symbol is significant.

Another Powerpoint from St. Mary's Press: Social Dimension of Paschal Mystery
Also downloadable or view from website.  Include small group and large group discussion.

Personal Testimony of Paschal Mystery
Share this video as a young man shares his testimony of what the Paschal Mystery means to him.  Let students share in small groups what paschal mystery means for them.  Use this with other materials listed above.  Deepen faith and meaning with faith sharing discussions. Remembers as a catechist, you "echo" your story as well!
