Book of Remembrance
Book of Remembrance
Once again, the digital Book of Remembrance is opened for everyone to add the names of those souls we pray for as we celebrate All Soul's Day, Nov 2. The digital Book of Remembrance will be open until the Feast of Christ The King. You may sign it from here share the web address: bit.ly/wepray4souls You can share the link with others to write their loved ones names in. I will add pages as necessary, there will always be at least one blank page, hopefully. The cells are already formatted, please do not change the font. You can add as many names as you would like. |
Pre-Meeting Article
We began a discussion at the last meeting from the paper I put together about paradigm shift. This month I would like to continue that conversation using this next article "Involvement or Engagement?". Though this article was written for schools, how can this article be related to our ministry. Read through the article and highlight areas you would like to discuss further. What kind of "partnerships" do we want to create and how is that possible? How can providing tools and activities for parents to do at home with their children not look like "homework". Where do we begin to move from involvement to engagement?
I think this is directly connected to the paradigm shift we saw on last month's chart as we move from "Passing on the Faith" to "Living into the Faith". Thoughts????

NEXT CL MEETING
Last month's meeting was very well attended. Between both meetings we had 28 CLs and YMs attend, which is fantastic. The more that are in attendance, the more dynamics there are to our discussions, more wisdom, more sharing, more support for one another. If you haven't been able to come to meetings thus far this year, we really miss your presence. We hope to see you soon.
The next meeting is"
Thursday, Nov 10 (prayer begins promptly at 6:30pm, ends at 8:30pm. Refreshments served beginning at 6pm.)
OR
Friday, Nov, 11 (prayer begins promptly at 9:30am, ends at 11:30am. Coffee and snacks served beginning at 9M. Lunch outing for those who would like to join us.)

Youth Update- Pictures and Evaluation
All I can say is WOW!!! What an amazing day, and what amazing young people we have in our diocese!! Sophia Elacqua gave a strong message that even us, as adults, can sometimes need a reminder of - "We were created by God to do more than just exist!". We have been gifted, each of us, in special ways to use in this world. Sophia used her communication skills to move the audience through a wonderful experience as she shared her witness of overcoming fear and "moving outside her comfort zone" as she shares her faith in many ways around the world. There were at least 500 students present from around the Eastern Region. Kudos to Dick Vetere, Anne Elacqua, Cheryl Smith and Rick Hensel for organizing this event. Thank you to the Good News Foundation for their financial support via the grant we are using for collaborative ministry among parishes. Thank you to Notre Dame Jr./Sr. High school for providing us with the space and all that is included with that. Thank you to all the sponsoring parishes for their financial support And a BIG thank you to all the parish leaders who supported this event. Enjoy the following pictures. (if you have pictures from the day, please send them to add to the collection.
If you were a parish that came with students, please share this survey among your students and return as we evaluate the day and begin planning for the next regional youth event.
