No Meeting November, but lots of Notes! We did not have our eastern region retreat, but that's okay. It is a busy time of the year. We still have much going on in the Eastern Region! Please see the November Notes files, that include flyers for upcoming events, information regarding the December CL & YM meeting, bookclub interest survey, and a special collaborative project for all to participate in using Google Slides! |

We are also going to show "Dynamic Catholic, Decision Point" being used by St. Mary's in Clinton, & "LifeTeens, One Eight Confirmation Program" which we just received some information. Share your own experiences of high school programs and Confirmation preparation, what works, what is the cost, how do you implement it, your review of it, etc. If you can create a document to share, that would be great!
Year Round Catechesis ~ Archived Webinar
Our first diocesan webinar went off without a hitch! Cathy Cornue discussed "Year Round Catechesis". You can view the archived webinar at faithformationevents.weebly.com under "Presenter Notes". The next webinar is scheduled for January 21. (This was scheduled before Cheryl and I were invited to a conference. The webinar might be rescheduled, but I hope to do everything possible to keep it as is.)
Tech Day In Syracuse
Diocesan Tech Day is November 19th ~ http://techday.syrdio.org/ Sponsored by the Diocesan I. T.
An Experiment
This is an activity for who ever wants to practice Google Slides. The link will go to slide presentation shared by all members here. Works really good if you have your syrdio.org account, but you don't have to have one to do this. Just click here or the title above to help create a slide presentation on Confirmation Programs. Include what you use, share images, cost, etc. You can do as many slides as you wnat to, but hopefully no more than 3 if possible. Let's give it a try, and then the information will be here for everyone to refer back to.

IDEA OF THE MONTH: Share Your Ideas!Your Teaching Idea Can Win You $100! Share your ideas with your fellow catechists and collect $100 if your idea is chosen as the Idea of the Month. Your teaching idea can be a simple prayer experience, a catechetical activity, or a lesson project appropriate for (or adaptable to) learners in kindergarten through sixth grade. We will choose the Idea of the Month from all entries, regardless of when entries are submitted. So, if your Idea of the Month entry is not chosen in the month it is submitted, it will continue to be considered for future publication. Since many of your ideas will be seasonal (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, etc.), we will publish ideas when they will be most meaningful for and useful to your fellow catechists. Feel free to submit your Advent teaching ideas during the Lenten season or submit several ideas in the summer months when you may have more time. We encourage you to submit photos or other graphics to illustrate your teaching idea. Our goal in offering the “Idea of the Month” in our print and online publications is to facilitate and encourage sharing among catechists and teachers around the country and world.
