Scripture: Acts 2:22–24, 32–33 “You that are Israelites,[a] listen to what I have to say: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with deeds of power, wonders, and signs that God did through him among you, as you yourselves know— this man, handed over to you according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of those outside the law. But God raised him up, having freed him from death, because it was impossible for him to be held in its power. This Jesus God raised up, and of that all of us are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you both see and hear.
Prayer for this week: The Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. Click the image for full size. |

Click on an image below to meditate with. Look at the details of the image. Put yourself in the picture, at the cross with Jesus and continue with the reflection below.
SUGGESTED REFLECTION Broken, beaten, spit upon, despised, taunted, battered, whipped, tortured, mocked, crucified. Died. Buried and rose again. All to bring you to new life. Jesus died so that you may live. He wants your whole heart. Not just a small piece of you, but all of you. He loves you and wants to be in close relationship with you.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Place yourself at the scene of Christ’s death. What are you seeing?
What are you hearing? Who is standing beside you?
What are you feeling as you watch Jesus die in front of you?

Meaning of Catholic CREED (Credo) by SCOTT Hahn (youtube, but really a podcast, just listen!) https://youtu.be/MjUa-GEewoM |
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. - John 1:7-9
Reflection: Jesus died so that you may live. He wants your whole heart. Not just a small piece but all of you. He loves you and wants to be in an intimate and close relationship with you. Pope Francis says that “Jesus Christ loves you, he gave his life to save you, and now he is living at your side every day to enlighten, strengthen, and free you” (Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium, #164). What difference has Jesus made to my life? |
