January has come and gone but the snow is still here! I am ready for a winter thaw! But, since the groundhog says six more weeks of winter, how about we share warm thawts (thoughts). This month's meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Feb 6 from 6:30 - 8:30 or Friday, Feb 7 from 9:30am - 11:30am. On the agenda you'll find a discussion from the Bishop's pastoral letter, brief updates on catechetical formation, Eastern Region Youth and Young Adult events and updates, and other events in our region! Review the agenda posted and download the Bishop's letter.....(continue to read more below).....
December's days are shorter and darker, yet we seem to fill our days with more work, more busy-ness, and more distractions. So, as we begin with December's prayer, we remind ourselves of the light that comes in the midst of the darkness. It symbolizes our longing, our desire, our hope. We wait for Love Divine to enter our hearts and our world. As we light the candles of the Advent Wreath, we are reminded to light our own "inner" candle. Take time to pause from the busy-ness and make each day your prayer. The words in the song, "I will make this day my prayer" by David Kaufmann makes a good reflection. The CD is available in our office.
Our meeting began with our guest speaker, Sr. Doreen Glynn, C.S.J. from the Office of Social Justice with the Sisters of Saint Joseph. Click below to read more.
Welcome to this year's first Catechetical Leaders' Meeting! I am very excited about this year! We have several new faces in our ministry, so please welcome them. We have new leaders at Our Lady of Lourdes, Utica and St. Joseph's, Lee Center. Towards the end of last year, St. Anthony/St. Agnes announced their new leader, who is a familiar face to many of us.
Speaking of Catechetical Leaders, our brand new Catechetical Leaders handbook is available. These new binders were distributed at the meeting. If you were unable to attend the meeting, it is your responsibility to pick it up at the office this month.
Below you will find all the handouts that were given at the meeting as well as this month's episode of "Meeting Rap-up".
Please click the "Read More" just below this entry to the lower right of this to expand this blog entry.
Please complete this form for the 2017-18 year so that I may have information to share with other CLs who are looking for retreats. This saves MUCH time since our office as a whole has decreased in man-hours. ONLY CLs have access to the retreat listings.
To see the retreats that have been added to the list, click the Retreat Listings link. The link will require permission to access. Please request access. (I have given permission to all CL email addresses. You may still need to request access though)
