Rachamim - Compassion - Divine Mercy
Rahamim is the Hebrew word used many times in scripture to mean pity, compassion, mercy. The root of the word comes from "womb". Rahamim or Rachamim means "womb-love". The love that mirrors the connectiveness of a mother and her child. Today's prayer service looks at the Divine Mercy of our God and Jesus. The prayer service includes a separate sheet with a beautiful conversation that occurred between Pope Francis and a young girl in Manilla as she asked with tears in her eyes the Pope "Why do children suffer?"

- Moving mission from outside Syracuse to our "own backyard"
- Moving from the classroom as the primary and sometimes only model of faith formation to the "living" room.
- Moving our churches from places of "IN" and "UP" to places of "IN" and "UP" and "OUT"

- Movement from the Head to the Heart.
- Moving our understanding of God loving us because we are good to God loving us because God is good.

Please check the diocesan website for updates. The Safe Environment Office has had a difficult time scheduling in the east because of only a few facilitators. I would suggest that in your clusters, assess how many you need to schedule for PGC and the Recert. Join together as a PCA (contact each other) and ask to schedule a session for your PCA at the most convenient time for your people.
Lisa Spooner found "Officer Buckle" on YouTube. There are actually several versions.
Lisa also brought in a "Jesus" stand up poster. This can be purchased from Oriental Trading for $36. You can wait for free shipping offers. This is really cute for First Communion or your VBS.
She also shared the new sacrament program from St. Mary's Press for First Reconciliation & First Communion. She was very impressed with the program. Downside - it's a little more pricey. It comes as a set, including the SMP Children's Bible, 10 sessions for Reconciliation and 8 for Eucharist. She combines the program sessions to meet her calendar needs.
